HOUSING

In 2014, we started our first Light of Hope Home in Johannesburg. What started off as a lightly managed environment for our beneficiaries, over time has evolved into a more formalised programme of daily tasks, responsibilities, prayers, teachings and upliftment activities for the home’s occupants. The results have been remarkable, and the true light of hope started to shine through our beneficiaries, many of whom have acquired the peace of Christ in their hearts and are now making a difference in the communities that they have moved on to serve.

Gauteng Homes and Schools

Our Johannesburg-based Light of Hope Homes and Schools consist of five homes for men, women and children, that house up to a hundred people at any one time. Included there are home school classrooms and an assembly facility for group activities, while our nearby Alpha Omega Mission head-office offers counselling and prayer support to the greater community.

Northern Cape Projects

In the Noupoort Light of Hope Homes, we run various projects to assist in the upliftment of local communities. This includes a tunnel farming project that enables us (the "Kosbakkie") to regularly distribute free vegetables to the local community. We also run a day-care centre for children, an Information Technology training centre and a variety of feeding schemes in the surrounding areas.

South Africa and beyond

We are always on the look-out to partner with like-minded people and/or charitable organisations who share the same values as ours, with a view to spreading the Light of Hope Homes and Schools, together with our related social upliftment projects, throughout Southern Africa and, by the grace of God, to plant the right seeds for others to follow suit throughout Africa and the world.
